THINGS TO DO IN TAMPA FL

Whether you are looking for laid back vibes or exciting adventure, Tampa has an endless list of things to do. As a sports enthusiast you'll love living in Tampa and rooting on your local teams. Located in the city nicknamed Champa Bay, you can find our hockey team the Tampa Bay Lightning and our football team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Hop over the bridge to St. Petersburg and you’ll find our Tampa Bay Rays baseball team and the Rowdies soccer team. If you’re looking to golf, get ready to hit the fairway because Tampa has 19 golf courses! Surprisingly you can find another 60 courses under 20 miles away.

A newer development is the Tampa Bay Riverwalk, a 2.5-mile boardwalk connecting some of the city’s top entertainment and things to do. Along this waterfront walk you will encounter museums (Glazer and History), the Straz a performing arts center, parks (Curtis Hixon), a unique strips of bars, restaurants, and shops (Sparkman Wharf). Also located on the Riverwalk is Armature Works, an elevated food court style area with a rooftop bar, local rotating food vendors, and a picture-perfect waterfront space. Make your way downtown towards Amalie Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team and you’ll find Channelside and Sparkman Wharf, a local spot for food and entertainment made out of shipping containers.

Tampa is full of exciting attractions for the whole family. Some of the top attractions include Lowry Park Zoo, the Florida Aquarium, and Busch Gardens, a zoo and theme park in one. You can enjoy festivals and celebrations year-round due to the great weather. Some of our favorite annual events include the Gasparilla Parade where pirates invade the city, the Strawberry Festival which promotes our local farmers, and big-name concerts like the Sunset Music Festival. Other notable food and beverage events like Margarita Fest and Pig Jig are sprinkled throughout the year and usually have live entertainment. You may not think of Florida as a brew hub but we have over 100 breweries in Tampa Bay. Some of our well-known favorites include Cigar City and Coppertail brewery and a few smaller gems like Angry Chair or 7th Sun.

The beautiful beaches and abundance of water activities definitely put Tampa on the destination map. Why not live where people vacation. Enjoy Tampa Bay with great inshore fishing, kayaking, boating, paddleboarding, or hit the nearby white sand beaches of Clearwater and St. Petersburg ranking top in the U.S. There’s even a water taxi!

BEST TAMPA NEIGHBORHOODS

The city of Tampa has a ton of history and charm when it comes to neighborhoods. Smaller homes found in Old and West Tampa are located near our Raymond James Stadium (Tampa Bay Buccaneers).

To the east you have The Heights made up of Seminole Heights, Tampa Heights, and Riverside Heights. These neighborhoods are an eclectic tight knit community with charming bungalows and a huge support for local businesses.

Ybor City is a hot spot for nightlife and culture with historical homes and brick roads.

Downtown Tampa has high rise condos and a luxury feel with walkability and plenty of things to do.

One of the most desirable areas to live in includes the South Tampa area (Palma Ceia, Bayshore, Westshore, Hyde Park). Expect to pay a premium for being centrally located and in an area known for great Schools.  Known as the affluent epicenter of the city, homes here include everything from large townhomes to luxury mansions.

Lastly, the Downtown area is thriving with new condo development and walkability.  And just south of Downtown are Davis Island and Harbour Island, encompassing the boating lifestyle and waterfront living.
